Ok so I got a couple of ideas that I think would be very neat.
Firstly I would think it would add a new element to the game if we had defensive mobs as well as offensive mobs, this way you could build in def or atk depending on what you would like to do. This would work similarly to how the combat system currently is but instead of beating the opponent by just purely KPE it would be your atk vs their def, although if they had no def mobs you could also wipe out their atk mobs.
Secondly, intelligence, this would work with both intel mobs and anti-intel mobs, similar sort of thing with the attacking but this would scout the enemy to find out their def, atk, intel and/or anti-intel. If you have lower intel than the anti-intel of the opponent then you would have a % chance depending on the difference to gain intel on 1 or 2 of their troops stats, where as if you had a higher intel then their anti-intel you would have a higher chance with the ability to gain intel on up to all 4 of their troop stats.

Great ideas, just wanted to add my two cents to this suggestion. How about a new building for the "spies/scouts" that you would need to produce said mobs. In addition, instead of anti-spies/scouts the Intelligence HQ or whatever's level could give the bonuses against enemy scouts/spies so if it is a certain level above the invading spies/scouts then the mission would fail, or like you said you would only be able to get certain information and not more.
